The unique natural grass amphitheatre, riverside setting and large enthusiastic crowds provide a wonderful backdrop for some of the sport’s top riders to deliver exciting family entertainment. For years the Shrewsbury Flower Show has welcomed teams from Pony Club Branches, to offer an opportunity to ride on a unique grass amphitheatre area with large enthusiastic audience giving a real thrill to these young jockeys. Two years ago, the Show decided to open up the competition to more youngsters by holding a competition off-site and including a range of heights to encourage all ages of pony club member. This event will take place on Sunday 31st July at Radfords Equestrian Centre. The closing date for entries for this competition is Monday 18th July. This year, with the Shrewsbury Flower Show making a comeback following Covid, we are very excited to announce this event will be a qualifier for our first ever ‘Mini Major’ event which will showcase on Saturday 13th August at the Show. Riders from Class 2 -5 who are placed first and second will be invited to join our ‘A lister’ Show jumpers in this fabulous competition.
