The Overtones – Saturday Night Band

The organisers of the 2017 Shrewsbury Flower Show, which will take place on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th August, have announced that Britain’s number one vocal harmony group, The Overtones, are set to the wow the crowds when they perform on the Saturday evening.

The Overtones celebrated their fifth consecutive Top 10 UK Album, ‘A Good Ol’ Fashioned Christmas’ at the end of last year.

Initially landing a recording deal with Warner Music in the summer of 2010, their debut album ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’ reached number four on the album chart. Combined, their albums have sold over a million copies and have seen the group appear on numerous TV shows.

The Overtones are torchbearers for flat-out fantastic singing, as much as a throwback to the timeless appeal of doo-wop and Motown as they are to modern day R&B and pop.  Their reputation as a group with the unique ability to deliver consistently uplifting music infused with exquisitely crafted vocal harmonies is renowned.

Chairman of the Shropshire Horticultural Society’s Arena Committee, Andrew Rhodes, said “We are delighted to be able to offer our visitors something different this year.  The Overtones have enjoyed a succession of major achievements, including performing in front of 250,000 people at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert, and we look forward to welcoming them to our show in August.”
