TV Producer

Professional eater and drinker Andy Clarke is one of the UKs most exciting and vibrant voices in the food & drink industry. Having worked in food, drink and travel television production for a number of years, Andy is happiest when communicating his love of all things edible and sippable on telly, through social media and by hosting events.

Andy’s TV production credits include developing and producing ‘Saturday Kitchen Live’ (BBC1), series producing Both James Martin’s French & American Adventures (ITV) and being responsible for food & drink on ‘Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip’ (ITV). He also produced and directed a brand series ‘Rachel Khoo’s Chocolate’ (Discovery+ / Food Network) and helped to produce ‘The Great Cookbook Challenge with Jamie Oliver’ (Channel 4).

As well as TV production, Andy has varied roles within the food & drink industry. He recommended all the wine and drink pairings to go with the food on the first series of ‘James Martin’s Saturday Morning’ (ITV) and recommended all wines on ‘Word to the Mothers’, a series written and hosted by Mum-Blogger Zeena Moolla (Made TV). Andy writes about food & drink for many publications including a regular column in The BBQ Magazine where Andy creates recipes and is drinks correspondent. He has also written for The Telegraph.

Andy regularly hosts events and festivals including The Soil Association’s ‘BOOM’ Awards (Best of organic market), a role that he will return to this summer. He has also hosted The Golden Pineapple Awards which in 2022 was held at The Natural History Museum in London for The Drinks Trust, a charity for which Andy is a patron. This year will also see Andy return to being resident host at all ten Pub in the Park locations and he will be hosting cocktail demonstrations at The Royal Bath & West Show, Thame Food Festival and at The Big Grill in Dublin, Europe’s biggest BBQ & Food Festival.

Andy’s palate is also put to good use as food and drink judge. He regularly judges for Great Taste Awards, The British Cheese Awards, The British Pie Awards, The Independent English Wine Awards, The Soil Association ‘BOOM’ Awards and The Irish Food Writing Awards and hosts food and wine matching dinners and seminars around London and in the West Country in conjunction with well-known chefs.

For many years Andy has been a consultant to the food and hospitality industry through offering practical advice to restaurants, bars and catering companies. As well as this Andy has trained chefs to be on camera, curated wine lists for restaurants, designed cocktails for drinks brands and he has been involved in organising bespoke projects, campaigns initiatives and events for a number of organisations. This year Andy has taken the role of Director of Food & Drink at CarFest, Chris Evan’s festival at Laverstoke Park Farm in aid of children’s charities.

During the 2020 Coronavirus lockdowns Andy developed his online presence by presenting videos for many food and wine brands as well as co-hosting cookalong and drink matching sessions on social media for premium brand clients and businesses with a number of successful cooks and chefs. Andy then joined the team on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ as a cocktail expert, a role that he continues. Andy also regularly  appearing on ITV’s ‘Love your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh’ as food, wine and drinks expert. Andy is also the resident cheese expert in a brand-new Channel 5 documentary ‘The Wonderful World of Cheese’, narrated by Dawn French.

May 2022 saw the worldwide publication of his first book ‘Home Bar’ by Welbeck Publishing, a fun and informative book helping us all to become mixologists at home. ‘Home Bar’ is currently available on Amazon and in Waterstones, Oliver Bonas, WHSmith, John Lewis, in independents, and luxury stores such as Harrods and Liberty. ‘Home Bar’ has been nominated for ‘First Book Award’ at the Guild of Food Writers Awards 2023.
